Matlakse specializes in the manufacturing of Neutral Earthing Resistors (NER’s), tested in accordance with IEC60289 and IEEE32.
Matlakse’s Neutral Earthing Resistors are designed to provide added safety to industrial distribution systems by limiting ground fault current to reasonable levels. In a typical solidly grounded four wire system, the neutral is tied directly to earth ground. This can cause high ground fault current and excessive damage to transformers, generators, motors, wiring, and associated equipment. Inserting our neutral grounding resistor between neutral and ground, limits fault current to a safe level while still allowing sufficient current flow to operate fault clearing relays. Limiting fault current also reduces the problem of transient overvoltages which can occur during arcing type ground faults.
Matlakse’s cooling method accommodate both Air Cooled and Oil Cooled designs with continuous current ratings ranging from 2A to 30A and short time current ratings from 5A to 800A. Special current and short time ratings can be customed designed to meet our client’s requirements.
